Whether you’re headed for a skiing jaunt or a mountaineering holiday, it’s not difficult these days to procure the right set of gear and accessories. We’re all familiar with established outdoor gear brands like Marmot, Black Diamond , Outdoor Research, Mammut, and Patagonia – all of which can be procured locally at stores that specialize in adventure gear like Outdoor Life (Wheelock Place and Velocity), Adventure21 (Central) and Campers’ Corner (Waterloo Street). Some brands – like Arc’teryx, The North Face, and Columbia – even have their own stores. From baselayers to fleece jackets and down shells, it’s not difficult to procure one in your size these days compared to a decade ago.
